Angela Lee Loy is a global Business Leader, Visionary and Entrepreneur based in the Caribbean. Angela is involved in multiple industries across various sectors and disciplines. She is the Chairperson and Founder of Aegis Business Solutions Limited, the largest indigenous business consultancy in the English-speaking Caribbean. Aegis Business Solutions is Headquartered in Trinidad and Tobago, the Financial, Industrial, Energy and Manufacturing capital of the Caribbean. Angela is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK) with over forty year’s professional experience.
Angela is also the Chairperson of Eve Anderson Recruitment Ltd (EARL), the largest recruitment company in Trinidad and Tobago. This company celebrates 50 years of operations in 2020; providing quality service to Trinidad and Tobago. The clientele of EARL includes; international companies, private & public companies, existing & emerging companies within the hospitality, financial, manufacturing and retail industries. Angela also acquired Caribbean Resourcing Solutions Ltd; this is the first company established in Trinidad and Tobago to provide recruitment services to the IT sector-this entity expanded to also serve the Energy Sector.
Angela, collectively has over forty years’ experience in Auditing and Business Advisory Services with Aegis, PricewaterhouseCoopers and its precursor Price Waterhouse, which included a six month stint in the Hong Kong office. Angela is a results-driven visionary with over 40 years’ experience in Audit & Business Advisory Services. She provides advice on the following; financial management, restructuring of companies, and establishing of business operations. Angela also has considerable experience in share valuations, personal financial planning and advisory services for owner-managed enterprises, trust & settlements. Angela founded and built the Aegis Group over the last 19 years. This is after seeing the growing need for services in this sector. The Aegis brand provides quality service that is on par with the leading international corporations, operating in these sectors and is very often recommended by the said competitors.
Angela is a board member of several leading associations which reflects her years of experience and solid reputation as a trusted Non-Exec Board Advisor and respected business leader in the Caribbean. Angela is the past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Caribbean (ICAC), past President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad & Tobago (ICATT), former Trinidad representative of the International Assembly of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). A non-executive director of Prestige Holdings (a public company)-Chairman of the audit committee, non-executive director of NCB Global Finance (a public company), Chairman of the audit and risk management committees, non-executive director of Gulf Insurance Limited-Chairman of the audit committee, non-executive director of Assuria Life Co. Ltd, Chairman of Kapok Ltd, one of the largest indigenous hotel groups in Trinidad and Tobago. Angela is also a board member of 138 student Living (a Jamaica public company), which provides accommodation for university students.
Angela is the former chairman of the National AIDS Coordinating Committee (NACC), Founding member of the Foundation for Human Development, the Chairman of Music Literacy Trust, Chairman of The Social justice Foundation, Founding Director of the Self Esteem Foundation, a council member of the Chancery of the Archbishop of Port of Spain & member of the Archbishop Appeal fund, a board member of the Mercy Foundation, a division of the Living Water Community (one of the largest charitable organisations in the Caribbean). Angela is also providing support and assistance to the Living Water Community [UNHCR representative] on the current Venezuelan refugee crisis; coordinating private sector support to provide meaningful employment and sustainability. Past Director of the Trinidad Hotels, Restaurants & Tourism Association, past President of PricewaterHouseCoopers Credit Union and past President of Aegis Credit Union.
Angela is on the Board of Global Business Leadership Forum Ltd (GBLF) and serves as its Senior Advisor. This organization led the private sector’s relief and recovery efforts in the aftermath of the devastating Hurricane Season of 2017.
Angela is part of the Alliance for Global Regeneration and Resilience through Eve Anderson Recruitment Ltd and Global Business Leadership Forum Ltd. This organization is made up of some of the best global thinkers, leaders and experts on climate change, sustainability, resilience and regeneration.
In 2002, Angela was inducted into the International Association of Business Leaders and in 2004 she was selected as an honoured member of the Who’s Who of Professionals. In 2008, she received the ACCA Achievement Award for her outstanding contribution to the accountancy profession and to business and society. In addition, Angela chaired the Private Sector Forum at both the 2009 Summit of Americas and the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). She is also the Immediate Past President of the Trinidad and Tobago Coalition of Services Industries (TTCSI).
